While we’re reeling off the uneventful news that Davido couldn’t
secure a win at the just concluded 2014 MOBO Awards for Best African Act
category, the Organizers of the MTV Act category and like you probably guessed,
it wasn’t Davdio!
MTV Base declared Sauti-Sol a Kanyan afro Pop Group as the
winner of the 2014 MTV EMA Best African Act. Sauti Sol becomes the very first
Kenyan act to ever be conferred with the award.
The band emerged winners from other nominees including
Toofan, Davido, Goldfish and Diamond. By this unequivocal win, Sauti Sol will
be voted in the prestigious Worldwide
Act award category and the eventual winner will be revealed at the actual award
proceedings for the 2014 EMA in
