HIV discrimination can be carry out in so many ways, someone can be discriminating people living with Aids without knowing that he or she are discriminating their friend, brother, sister or classmate living with the sickness.
The fact that someone is infected with HIV or Aids dose not mean he or she can't contribute to the development of the society, having HIV dose not mean they can't live a normal life, it only depends on the kind of love shown to them.
Let me list some common ways people discriminates someone living with HIV/Aids.
- Lack of communication: I discovered that, when people finds out that their friend, neighbor, classmate or lover are infected with HIV, the communication they use to have with that particular person infected with HIV/Aids, will be limited in some issues, they totally stop talking to them and that can affected emotional and otherwise.
- Lack of love: this is one of the factors that contributes to emotional breakdown when people they love and care about completely change the way feel for them. Another factor is when people Completely change the way they see people living with HIV, the way they feel about them, and the way they respond to them.
This two factors are one of the greatest problem people living with HIV are facing.
It is bad to discriminate or stigmatized people live with HIV/Aids because they are normal people the fact that they are infected dose not mean that they are writing off from the normal activities been carry out each and every day.
Things we should do to show love to people living with HIV and stop HIV discrimination are:
- communicating: communicating is one of the greatest key to healthy living, when you communicate with friends or people living with HIV, it makes them feel that they still have something to offer and something to live for knowing that someone still cares about them, in the process of communicating with them you get to know how they feel, how they think, how they relate to their situation, by doing so you have find a way to reducing the rate by which they think.
- love: when you show love you make them feel free, helping them not to worry too much, discuss with them by telling them the food they need too eat. Encouraging them aspect of life and help them forget their worries, take good care of them, take them out for shopping as you to when they were free from HIV by doing so you have put a smile on their faces.
