It seems GEJ team are losing it and Jonathan himself needs more time to re-adjust.
According to SaharaReporters, Jonathan and his team wants the forthcoming elections to be postponed by 6 months. The National Security Adviser, NSA, Sambo Dasuki openly called for the postponement of the elections.
Sambo said the reason for the postponement is because INEC have not been able to distribute the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) across the country.
Few months ago, SaharaReporters reported that President Goodluck Jonathan was reluctant to hold national elections because his popularity is not gaining positive results.
Close sources connected to the presidency revealed that Jonathan wants the election to be postponed by six months, during that period, he will be able to appoint new INEC chairman of his choice to oversee the elections. Proffessor Attahiru Jega’s tenure will expire in July 2015.
SaharaReporters also stated that Jonathan is seriously considering an “Interim Gvernment of National Unity” that would elongate his tenure till 2017. That means he will spend eight years in power as President.
